Weaving Laboratory for the production of textiles and clothing items
THE IDEA
Lavgon Laboratory's inspiration to create unique and unusual clothing items has its roots in our appreciation of nature.
The laboratory was set up in the Italian countryside in April 2004 in a country home's old stables. Michela Cittadino and Lavinia Vicenzi, mother and daughter, adapted this traditional space to host their activity, in juxtaposition to the logic of the fashion world.
Lavgon's distinctive style is created by mixing an array of different materials, such as silk and African textiles, embroidered damask and matted boiled wool with steam, according to tradition, denim and biological textiles, cotton, hemp, bamboo, velvet and textile furnishings.
We aim to restore traditional techniques, such as hand weaving to produce creative tailoring.
We recycle textile scraps and turn them into accessories or use them to enrich and decorate clothes.
We start our creative process from the basics, choosing the right textile, designing a model, minimal and simple, giving it life with decorations and stitches. This manual creative process makes each item unique and exclusive.
